Job Seekers

The centers offers easy access to a multitude of job related services and skill development activities for individuals looking for employment.

Job Seekers receive assistance in finding employment, exploring careers, and upgrading their skills through education and training.

Job Seekers have total access to the world of interactive online searching, labor market information, job descriptions, current employment listings, and educational training opportunities.

Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center

The Los Angeles Urban League Small Business and Entrepreneurship Center provides small businesses and entrepreneurs one stop access to an array of specialized resources and information. Services offered included business assessment, technical assistance, business planning, marketing and human resource referral, training, and assistance.

The Los Angeles Urban League Entrepreneurship Center helps established minority entrepreneurs obtain the necessary management skills that will enable them to take advantage of new business opportunities and qualify for financing that will lead to higher levels of business growth.

The Los Angeles Urban League Entrepreneurship Center works with private, public and nonprofit resources to build strong, sustainable and successful minority businesses.

Business Coaching and Mentors

One-on-one mentor sessions provide the client with business support and guidance. The Los Angeles Urban League Entrepreneurship Center staff assesses the situation and helps the client determine what their next steps should be and guiding them to resources and opportunities to develop new skills or enhance existing ones.

The Los Angeles Urban League Entrepreneurship Center combines direct entrepreneurial skills development and business mentors to insure that the assistance received by the client is specific to their needs.

Workshops

Sessions are designed to assist established businesses that are ready to take their business to the next level. The Los Angeles Urban League Entrepreneurship Center provides numerous workshops throughout the year: 8-week Business Plan Writing – on campus and web-based interactive workshops.

Global Entrepreneurship Week

An annual conference in collaboration with the community partners providing an environment for businesses in the Los Angeles to identify procurement opportunities and relationships that benefit their business.

Biz Institute Youth Entrepreneurship Summer Camp

Biz Institute changes youth perspective on the importance of education while providing them skills and knowledge to be their own boss. This training is based on the NFTE (Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship) a curriculum that includes field trips, guest speakers and activities that lead to a completed business plan and National Business Plan Competition.
