COMMUNITY SERVICE
The Community Service Committee works on finding projects where members can volunteer to help serve their community. Participating in community service projects not only provides personal fulfillment for doing a good deed, but can also generate positive publicity and recognition for our chapter.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Professional Development Committee determines the professional development needs of the membership, recommends new initiatives and monitors the ongoing offerings of the LAULYP. The primary objective is to design and support professional development activities for members to develop and fulfill personal, and professional needs and goals.
SOCIAL & CULTURAL
The Social Committee will plan and implement social & cultural events that will cater to the needs and interests of members and will contribute to building a sense of community. The focus will be to build a community and enhancing the social and cultural environment within our membership.
POLITICAL AWARENESS
The Political Awareness Committee focuses on ensuring that members are aware of the current political climate and encourages participation in the political process. The goal is to provide members with opportunities to increase civic engagement and activism.
COMMUNICATIONS & TECHNOLOGY
The Communications & Technology Committee informs the membership and general public of all newsworthy programs through the use of the traditional media outlets and new social networking technologies. Our purpose is to create buzz that will not only enhance the experience of the membership, but informs others or our activities.
FUNDRAISING
The Fundraising Committee works year-round to form and maintain relationships with various organizations and businesses within our communities. The goal of the Fundraising Committee is to plan events to raise funds for the ongoing programs, services and expenses of the LAULYP.
