Entrepreneurs packed the house for the Los Angeles Urban League’s Black History Month event. Our entrepreneurial spirit and artistry were on full display as our Entrepreneurship Center put on a masterclass for nearly 100 business owners from throughout Southern California last night.

Billed as a night of “Growth and Resilience” and Black History Celebration, it turned out to be much more than that. There were three enlightening panel discussions as Los Angeles’ brightest business minds imparted their wisdom on those in attendance. The crowd got all the inside scoop on how to–win Los Angeles City and County service contracts AND how to—position your company for the rebuild and disaster assistance following last month’s wildfires.

The event discussion also highlighted many of the top entrepreneurs in the Los Angeles area, who’ve benefitted from the tutelage of our Entrepreneurship Center programs. Learn all about the cohorts and activities on our website under the PROGRAMS tab.

At the start of the event, Damon Haley. marketer extraordinaire, was awarded the highly coveted Pay It Forward Grant, for his Inglewood-based company, Glow+Flow Beauty. Damon and his wife Diane are seen below in the photos, holding the Pay It Forward logo. Thank you to SPECTRUM for sponsoring, and JP Morgan CHASE for hosting our event.

Thank you Los Angeles business community, and a round of applause to our Entrepreneurship Center team for everything you do for SoCal’s small business community. You are indeed making Black History, every day, and helping us fulfill our mission of economic empowerment.
