DESCRIPTION:Dates: Wednesday\, May 15\, 2024 @ 5:00pm – 5:30pm \nThe Los Angeles Urban League will organize Black students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (L.A.U.S.D) in a student advisory board to ensure their perspectives and needs are uplifted and represented in broader public education advocacy to drive systematic changes. The students will participate in advocacy and community-building sessions focusing on political education to advocate for policy changes that increase support and investments for Black students in L.A.U.S.D. \nMore info here: https://laul.org/programs/student-advisory-board/ \n\n\nThe culmination of the student advisory board will lead to students providing a report to the L.A.U.S.D superintendent. \n\n \n\n\nThe function of the Student Advisory Board is to provide a safe and empowering space for student leaders to advocate and ensure that K-12 student\, family\, and community concerns are reflected and prioritized. Students will learn to coordinate their efforts to drive organizational change.
