REVITALIZING UNDERSERVED SMALL BUSINESSES IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES AND INGLEWOOD

27 small business owners received $10,000 each, business consultant experts, and valuable resources like QuickBooks, thanks to our partners at INTUIT AND our exceptional team. We genuinely care, invest time, love, trust, and build for our community’s success. Do you see those smiles? We want to see our community SHINE. And that is what we did.

We hosted the event at Inglewood’s black-owned event space: LA Create Space and James T. Butts, Jr., Mayor of Inglewood was in attendance.  Our VP of Programs, Jamecca Marshall and INTUIT’s VP of Expert Network, David Graham, radiated love as they announced support for diverse minority, LGBTQ, veteran, and women-owned businesses. It was truly a beautiful event.

Our President and CEO, Ambassador Michael Lawson stated, “At the Los Angeles Urban League, we actively seek partners who possess a deep understanding of the challenges confronting Black and Brown entrepreneurs and small business owners. That is why the development of the IDEAS program and our collaboration with Intuit is so meaningful.”

This innovative and thoughtful initiative will empower a diverse group of small business owners in Los Angeles, and more importantly, it will add to the economic vitality and support the self-sufficiency of our neighborhoods and our families. We are thrilled about this new program which is rooted in a deep commitment to support local, small Black and minority-owned businesses across Los Angeles in partnership with Intuit.
