Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Urban League Biz Institute Young Entrepreneurs have once again demonstrated their exceptional entrepreneurial skills by excelling at the NFTE/US Bank Young Entrepreneur Challenge, a city-wide business plan competition held at the Beehive on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
Four young entrepreneurs from the LA Urban League competed in the Union Bank/NFTE Business Plan Competition Semi-Finals on April 22, 2023. All four moved on to the city-wide competition on Saturday, April 29, – three in the business plan competition and one in the fast pitch.
We proudly announce that LA Urban League students achieved remarkable success in the City-wide Competition. The four students who presented outstanding plans are Feleti Sulu of Scented From Sulu’s, Raymond Gravely of Suga Ray’s, Solonia Allen of ALMND MLK, and Journey Artis of On Your Journey.
Journey Artis, On Your Journey, secured the first-place position in the 11-12 grades category, winning a cash prize of $2,500. Raymond Gravely of Suga Ray’s secured second place in the same category, winning a cash prize of $1,000. Solonia Allen of ALMND MLK achieved first place in the grades 7-10 category, winning a cash prize of $2,500.
In addition, Solonia Allen has also advanced to the semi-finals of the NFTE Regional Competition, which is a great achievement for her and the Urban League program.
The LAUL Biz Institute competitors have shown exemplary talent and dedication to their entrepreneurial pursuits. The Los Angeles Urban League is proud of their tireless work and training over the past year. We congratulate all four students for their remarkable success and wish them luck in their future endeavors.
The Los Angeles Urban League’s 3-week Summer Youth Biz Camp program is set to launch on June 12th and is still accepting applications from interested students aged 14-18.
