Nina Torres

Senior Manager of Education

A non-profit leader with 10+ years of experience in the non-profit sector serving the underserved community in the local and national space. Developed and managed education programs, primarily college access and college success. As a California statewide community leader with a growth mindset, her experience focuses on building partnerships and relationships with a diversity, equity, and inclusion mindset while looking at programs and organizations holistically with a strong emphasis on strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.

She earned her Master of Arts in Human Rights Education at the University of San Francisco. Torres was awarded the Hilary Williams Ford award at the University for her commitment to social responsibility. Torres also earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Communications from California State University, Los Angeles. She is a Director at Large Board Member for the California State University, Los Angeles, Alumni Association and the Alumni Representative for the University Student Union. Torres also sits on the Alumni Association Board for the University of San Francisco. She is part of the Board for the PLUS ME Project, serving over 100,000 students across 350 schools. California State University, Los Angeles, awarded her the 2023 Distinguished Women’s Alumni Award. In October 2023, she was a short-list nominee for the L.A. Works Los Angeles Civic Leadership & Impact Rising Star Award. Nina Torres advocates for Education Equity and is proud to be the Senior Manager of Education Programs at the Los Angeles Urban League.
