What is the IDEAS Program?

IDEAS = Invest – Develop – Empower – Accelerate – Scale

The LA Urban League is partnering with Intuit to offer supports like bookkeeping, tax prep, compliance, and marketing help to 25-30 Black and minority-owned entrepreneurs across Los Angeles. Selected applicants will participate in a year-long program and be connected with Intuit experts, Urban League business counselors, and professional coaches who will help their small business to leverage the resources and software products from Intuit.

Participants who successfully complete the 12-month program are eligible to receive a $10,000 grant to continue business growth.

Criteria:

  • 51% minority owned (businesses located in minority business districts are priority)
  • Business located in Los Angeles County
  • 2+ years in operation
  • Willingness to adopt Intuit bookkeeping products, like QuickBooks Online
  • Ability to attend monthly workshops and networking events

Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), the global financial technology platform that makes Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, in partnership with the Los Angeles Urban League (LAUL) launched a new initiative on June 26, called the Intuit IDEAS (Invest, Develop, Empower, Accelerate, and Scale) program. The pilot program will leverage Intuit’s AI -driven platform and human experts with the know-how and advocacy of the Los Angeles Urban League to support Los Angeles-area Black and Latino small business owners to help them grow, scale, and accelerate their businesses.

Los Angeles Urban League helps African Americans and others in underserved communities achieve their highest true social parity, economic self- reliance, power, and civil rights. The League promotes economic empowerment through education and job training, housing and community development, workforce development, entrepreneurship, health, and quality of life.
