Wendell Younkins

Chief Financial Officer

Wendell Younkins joined the Los Angeles Urban League’s executive team in the summer of 2025, following the 50th Whitney M Young Awards and Celebration event. As Chief Financial Officer he brings a wealth of experience in accounting, contracts and fiscal compliance. Throughout his career he has displayed a proven track record of developing and managing highly functioning finance organizations and teams. Wendell has a deep passion for civic involvement and serving underrepresented and marginalized communities.

He brings significant nonprofit experience as well, having volunteered, served on the board of directors and as a staff member at four different nonprofit organizations. As CFO he welcomes the responsibility of providing fiscally strategic rigor and transparency for the Los Angeles Urban League.

Previously Wendell held Controllership and CFO roles at Netflix, Comcast NBCUniversal and General Electric. He has also worked for Omni Social Services, Riddell Inc. and the accounting firm of Crowe Chizek and Co. Wendell has always stayed active in spaces that promote equitable access and participation without barriers, serving as a financial mentor to various individuals and employee resource groups.

He holds a BS degree in Accounting and Finance from DePaul University and Wendell is a graduate of General Electric’s Experienced Finance Leadership Program. The father of three children and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, he lives in Los Angeles with his wife.
