Financial disbursements continue to anyone adversely impacted by the January wildfires, as part of the Los Angeles Urban League’s, Wildfire Direct Relief Fund. Approved applicants are receiving immediate cash assistance grants. Anyone interested is recommended to apply now. Applicants will be required to show documentation including photos, insurance claims, reports, notices or other verification, that shows they’ve been affected.
The funding has been made available, from the Los Angeles Urban League’s SoCal Equity Fund, a fundraising campaign the organization launched back on January 10th, three days after the Eaton Fire ignited, which burned more than 14,000 acres, destroying and damaging 10,500 structures and claiming 17 lives. The Eaton Fire goes down in California history as one of the state’s most disastrous wildfires ever. The fire started in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Altadena in a saddle known as the Eaton Canyon.
Committed to the long-term rebuild of Altadena and Pasadena, the LA Urban League initiated a new strategy pillar of actionable programming in response to the wildfires, known as Recovery and Rebuild.
