Verdell Shumpert

Workforce Inclusion Program Manager

Verdell has thrived in the nonprofit sector for more than 20 years and is widely recognized as a Workforce Development and Nonprofit Specialist. Her role of Workforce Inclusion Program Manager for the Los Angeles Urban League is her second tour of duty with the organization. Before her return to the LA Urban League, Verdell worked at the Flintridge Center which is a partner of the HireLAX Apprenticeship Readiness Program. In her work at the Flintridge Center, she led efforts that prioritized inclusion in the hiring of local union construction workers, for the ongoing capital improvement projects at Los Angeles International Airport.

Verdell has also worked with the Los Angeles County Head Start Program, and in the housing sector. Detail-oriented, adaptable and a team player she carries a passion for helping families and individuals achieve the level of self-sufficiency. Welcome home Verdell!
