Miguel Perez Guzman

Workforce Transition Navigator

In his role as Workforce Transition Navigator, Miguel brings an accomplished body of work to the Los Angeles Urban League, in the jobs and workforce development sectors. A native Angeleno, Miguel grew up in the El Sereno neighborhood, a vibrant community on the Eastside of Los Angeles.

A first-generation American and first-generation college graduate, Miguel earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Humboldt State University, (known now since 2022 as California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt.) He also has a Certificate of Employment Law for Arbitrators, from California State University Long Beach.

As part of his workforce development training, Miguel has centered his efforts on leading professional development workshops, helping candidates improve their job readiness skills, specializing in budget management for workforce grants, coordinating job fairs and volunteering with his local neighborhood council. Hundreds of individuals throughout Los Angeles County have Miguel to thank, for helping them secure not just employment, but careers.

Someone who believes in optimizing his time, Miguel carries a passion for helping people who are seeking help. He enjoys gardening, land stewardship and exploring hiking trails in his spare time.
