We were out in full force at one of our community’s favorite events. The annual Kingdom Day Parade, celebrating the legacy and life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The Los Angeles Urban League has taken part in this parade as long as it has existed, 40 years! Known as the “world’s largest and longest-running life celebration of MLK,” this year’s theme was Peace and Unity, Let It Start With Us.
As always, the real stars of the parade were the hundreds of Angelenos who lined the parade route from start to finish, to wave hello to marching bands, floats, equestrians, decorated vehicles and first responders. Thank you Los Angeles and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We will see you again next year!
The parade, originally set for last month on MLK Day, was postponed because of the wildfires that burned across the Los Angeles area. It turned out to be a wonderful day for the parade. Our staff, board members and Young Professionals all took part.
