5-WEEK VIRTUAL TECH WORKSHOP SERIES
LA Urban League has teamed-up with America On Tech (AOT) to offer a series of virtual tech workshops for selected high school students between the ages of 14-19 years old. The program will deliver 5 free virtual workshops for those students this spring.
This series will introduce you to various coding and technology topics that can help prepare you to pursue degrees and careers in technology.
Each workshop session is 2 hours long and takes place via Zoom from 4 PM – 6 PM PST. The series runs for 5 weeks and covers the following topics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, UX Design, and Podcasting. Sessions are run by AOT Program Managers and volunteer technologists representing different technology companies.

Learn the Basics of Web Development
HTML
You will walk away with an understanding of how HTML can be used to create custom web pages or designing templates. As you learn more about HTML, the other web languages that follow in this series of workshops will be a lot easier to learn!
CSS
You will walk away with an understanding of how CSS simplifies the process of making web pages. As you learn more about CSS, the other web languages that follow in this series of workshops will be a lot easier to learn!
JAVASCRIPT
You will know data types, variables, and functions!
UX Design
You will walk away with an understanding of the importance of UX design. You will have learned how to interact with websites so now UX can be second nature when you stop and think about how you engage with a product.
Podcasting
You will learn the foundation for launching a podcast. This workshop will walk you through the basic steps necessary to launch your first show! If you like sharing information and want to expand your reach and increase awareness into a topic of your choice, this Intro to Podcasting Workshop will guide you from start to finish.
