Student Advisory Board

Project Overview
The Los Angeles Urban League is one of 92 affiliates of the National Urban League. Students involved in this project will participate in advocacy and community-building sessions focusing on strategic education to advocate for policy changes that increase support for Black students in the Los Angeles Unified School Department. (LAUSD)
The culmination of the Student Advisory Board will lead to students providing a report to the LAUSD Superintendent.
Project Objectives
- Advance Black student success.
- Provide educational modifications and accommodations that will benefit students.
- Promote lifelong learning and skill development.
- Eliminate educational disparities. Improve quality of education enhancing cultural classroom experience.
- Teach students how to work with legislators to make changes to laws and policy pertaining to education that enhance the classroom experience.
