The Los Angeles Urban League will organize Black students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (L.A.U.S.D) in a student advisory board to ensure their perspectives and needs are uplifted and represented in broader public education advocacy to drive systematic changes. The students will participate in advocacy and community-building sessions focusing on political education to advocate for policy changes that increase support and investments for Black students in L.A.U.S.D.

The culmination of the student advisory board will lead to students providing a report to the L.A.U.S.D superintendent.
The function of the Student Advisory Board is to provide a safe and empowering space for student leaders to advocate and ensure that K-12 student, family, and community concerns are reflected and prioritized. Students will learn to coordinate their efforts to drive organizational change.
